Kit Cuteness

Ooh! I feel oh-so-very lucky to be the team member in charge of kit samples this month! The September kit won’t be available until Sept 6th, but here’s a sneak peek at the kit:

The kit features some great printed cardstock from the “Walk in the Park” collection from Echo Park Papers. The colors and patterns are wonderful! My 16 year old (who does not share my obsession… um, I mean love of paper) even squealed with delight – she loves the tree paper!

Here’s my card which also features one of the adorable new Rachelle Anne Miller stamps released last month:

The trees mimic the tree in the background of this stamped image too, don’t you think?

Supplies: A New Adventure (RAM for PWCO), September kit, Copics

Free For All!

Hey everyone!

Wow, is September an exciting month!  It’s going to contain my birthday (16th), my husband’s birthday(30th), a visit from my Dad (who lives in Texas – he’s around from the 9th-17th), Emily starts Ballet & Tap right after her first day of Grade 1 (8th), AND Em & I are taking off on a weekend getaway at the end of the month!  Good thing my ‘assignment’ for this month is Free For All!!!  Being able to just create without any guidelines is sometimes easier when you’re busy, especially if you’ve got PWCO’s PaperCard kits!  <–Definitely one of my must-haves – and a shameless plug (lol)!

This week’s card is actually one I did for the most recent Rachelle Anne Miller release.  I used Beary Best of Friends and paired it with some BasicGrey Euphoria paper & Bazzill Smoothie cardstock.  The image panel is cut using good old Nesties Classic & Scallop Ovals, and the image is (shocker) coloured with Copics.  There is lots of sparkle added, too – you didn’t think I’d leave that out, did you?!

Catch ya next week - same bat time, same bat channel!

I thought I would share with you this very easy technique that I love.  This is a silhouette card.  I started by using my brayer and coloring in the sky then I did the blue of the water and the mountains.  I stamped, “standing beneath a tree” drew in the ground and colored in the image and ground with black marker.  I like how it looks like the kids are looking at the sun rise or sun set!  My brother in law’s girlfriend, Amber, sketched in the mountains just by shading in with a grey marker.  She also drew in the birds.  I hope you liked this technique and will give it a try!

Stamps: Standing beneath a tree

paper: more mustard, real rust, white

ink: more mustard, real rust, so saffron, ballet blue, brilliant blue

markers: black and grey

Tiger Bookmark

Hi there!

Welcome to my last ‘Free for All’ posting for August – I hope you’ve enjoyed my different creations!  Today I have a fun little bookmark that has been on my ‘to do’ list for a long time!  My son is an avid reader and keeps bugging me to make him a bookmark, and finally I got round to it!  I’ve been totally inspired by all the gorgeous animal creations which were entered into the Ultimate Summer Challenge so I decided to ink up sweet Timothy Tiger.  He’s so cute isn’t he  …. I think he has more of a meow than a grrrr myself!!  LOL

I found the easy peasy tutorial here on Splitcoaststampers.  I love how the bookmark works – it sits on the page corner.  Isn’t that neat!  Timothy is coloured with my copics and mounted on a circle nestie which I quickly distressed with Tea Dye ink.  The sentiment is from Tim Holtz’ book of tickets.  Very apt don’t you think!  Leafy paper is DCWV Safari Collection.

I finished the back off so everything is smooth and slides over the book page nice and easily.

I will definitely be making more of these as we get ever closer to the giving season!  Perfect teacher gifts with a gift certificate for Chapters or stocking stuffers.  Look out for my postings on Sundays coming up in September … I look forward to playing around with the Sunday Sketches!

Danielle x

Materials Used:-

Stamps – Timothy the Tiger

Colouring Medium – Copic markers

Paper – Jillibean Soup (reverse of bookmark), Prismatics Cardstock (orange)

Other – Nesties, Ribbon & Sentiment from stash

I had not used this cute image yet from the latest Rachelle Anne Miller Release so I thought I would color it up this week and use it for the sketch challenge. This sweet stamp is called “A new adventure” and isn’t that just what every day should be? This image reminds me of our oldest daughter when she was a little girl riding her bike with her stuffed animals in her basket! Awww, the memories!!!! I can not wait to see what everyone does with this sketch!

SS#48 – no place like home

written by Bella

today is the last PWCO sketch of August that was designed by me. I had a lot of fun doing it and wanna thank Peggy for letting me give it a go.
here’s my creation:
i must admit that when i drew up this sketch i had gone cropping with my friends the night before and Claude did something with 4 or 5 stripes of paper on her layout, this sketch was totally inspired by her layout!
I love Cosmo Cricket, i buy almost every collection along with their chipboard shapes, the problem is i hardly use them. Since i couldn’t decide which stamp i wanted to use i went with NO stamp on this one and just used the chipboard shapes.
what’s in it?
cs: DWCV, Bazzill
pp: Cosmo Cricket (Delovely)
letters: Carolee’s Creations
chipboard: Cosmo Cricket (Delovely)
ink: AC pen (charcoal), Signo white gel pen
thanks for stopping by,
Bella

Baby card, SC294

August 28th, 2010
written by Karen

Happy Saturdays, Stampers!  Today I am sharing with you a sketch from Splitcoast Stampers, SC294.  I didn’t intend for this to be a baby card, but after it was done it just looked so cute and so baby girly that it now going to be a baby card for a co-worker who is expecting his first child (a girl).   My hint for today is that sometime we don’t goof up and everything turns out just right!

Stamp: Berry best of friends

Paper: 3 bugs in a rug: sweet dreams

Copics: E04, E11, E33, R20, YG63

accessories: border punches, white ribbon, flower sticker
