SS#48 – no place like home

today is the last PWCO sketch of August that was designed by me. I had a lot of fun doing it and wanna thank Peggy for letting me give it a go.
here’s my creation:
i must admit that when i drew up this sketch i had gone cropping with my friends the night before and Claude did something with 4 or 5 stripes of paper on her layout, this sketch was totally inspired by her layout!
I love Cosmo Cricket, i buy almost every collection along with their chipboard shapes, the problem is i hardly use them. Since i couldn’t decide which stamp i wanted to use i went with NO stamp on this one and just used the chipboard shapes.
what’s in it?
cs: DWCV, Bazzill
pp: Cosmo Cricket (Delovely)
letters: Carolee’s Creations
chipboard: Cosmo Cricket (Delovely)
ink: AC pen (charcoal), Signo white gel pen
thanks for stopping by,

here’s the card i made for this week’s sketch.  I saw this really great tutorial on SCS this week on how to make a window card and thought “WOW! that would be perfect for this week’s sketch!”

you can find the tutorial here.  I used some of the new Echo Park papers that are also the kit this month, absolute fantastic collection.  If you didn’t get this papercard kit yet….what are you waiting for!  i’m telling you; you NEED it!  I used two sizes of Nesties to create a window frame and pop doted my image on the inside of the card for a bit more dimension.

what’s in it?

cs: Bazzill

pp: Echo Park

stamp: PWCO/RAM – a surprise cheer

ink: memento, copic (E50-E51-BG45-BG49-R17-R20-R22-Y02-T08-C1-C3-C5)

other: pop dots, nestabilities, stickles, yellow pen from staples

Have fun with the sketch!

summertime, isn’t it wonderful?

This will be short and sweet.  Gorgeous Rachelle Anne Miller stamp from our newest release, great papers…kind of… and i’m only saying “kind of” because the “paper” with the sky, banner and fence is actually a fabric paper from the Dear Lizzie collection.  It was just so perfect for this stamp that i couldn’t resist using it.

And this is a first for me, i usually do  a  card for a specific challenge, but as i was blog surfing i found so many good challenges this week that this card actually is good for three challenges out there.  To make it even more of a multi-functional card it’s also for my friend’s niece’s first birthday; RAM’s images are so wonderful for kids.

what’s in it?

pp: bazzill, prism, AC dear lizzie

stamp: PWCO/RAM-a new adventure

ink: memento, copic (0, C1, C3, C5, W1, W3, W5, W7, E00, E02, E31, E35, E37, E43, E47, E49, YR65, Y21, Y26, YG41, YG91, G00, G02, G07, B0000, B00, B02, R17, R22, RV10)

other: pop dots, red stickles, kaiser pearls, nestabilities, spica glitter pen, white signo pen, fiskars corner punch

challenges i’m submitting this card to:

CAS-tastic challenges – summer theme

A Crafty Little Place – sketch

SB Trends Cards blog – pinwheels

stamp: PWCO-Zach&Zoe sports series bonus stamp

ink: memento, copic (YR31)

round of golf anyone? (challenge focus)

For the month of July i get to do the challenge focus.  This is actually a great one for me because i always want to do some of the challenges i see out there in blogland, but never find the time (like i said in a prior post…i’m a procrastinator!)

so i decide to do challenge #57 at the Color Chef (see all the details heregreen-brown-white

a few notes: i used a toothpick for my flag post and i cut out a cloud shape and sponged some blue around it to create my sky.  Of course i’m one that tends to glue as i go and i thought of adding clouds after everything was done so it was a bit more tricky, i had to make sure i didn’t sponge blue ink on Zach or my flag.  i also used some smooch on this inside of the cloud to add a little something to it.  you can see it better on the close-up shot:

what’s in it?

cs: bazzill

pp: Jillibean soup

stamp: PWCO-Zach & Zoe – Zach the golfer

ink: memento, copic (0, C1, E00, E02, E31, E77, Y28, YG00, YG03, BG93), distress (broken china)

other: doodlebug frills, fiskars border punch, cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder, sponge, smooch (illuminate)

another cupcake?

well yes… i love cupcakes!

This is my last post with the June papercard kit, i guess i started the month with a cupcake and i ended it with a cupcake!  I think this has to be my favorite Doodlebug collection ever, and i really didn’t use much of it.  I punched out 1 in circles in different papers and colored cardstock and layered them with pop dots.  it doesn’t show much but on the yellow cardstock and yellow lines and dots of the patterned paper i colored it with a Spica glitter pen.  I also added diamond stickles on the pink circles, brown lines and the cupcake tops of the punched cupcake border.  it is a very festive and sparkly card that any little girl would love to get for her birthday!

what’s in it?

from June papercard kit (cardstock, doodlebug papers)

extras: fiskars circle sqeeze punch, Martha Stewart cupcake border punch, pop dots, diamond stickles, Spica glitter pen, Copic liner pen

See you in July with the Challenge Focus!

teacher’s gift

Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010
written by Bella

This week I used the June Papercard kit to make a cute little teacher’s gift for my son’s pre-k teacher.

i know it’s been done before but i’m always a little late trying out new tutorials and techniques. It’s not because i don’t want to but i’m an eternal procrastinator!

these are the measurements for a standard post-it pad.
cut a piece of cardstock 3.5″ wide and 7.5″ long. On the long side score a line at 3.5″  and 4″; fold along the scored lines. Glue a 3″ square of patterned papers on the outside and the inside of the top flap. Decorate as you wish, i used some of the dew drops from the kit on my flower centers and added some stickles in pink and light green. Glue your post-it pad on the inside of the bottom flap.  I also punched two holes and in the spine 1″ from each edge and installed an eyelet with my crop-o-dile. Thread the eyelets with a ribbon and tie a bow.

I don’t know if it shows much but i also used a piece of the same patterned paper on the inside of the pen casing. That’s very easy to do. unscrew the bottom of the pen (or top in some cases) tightly wrap a small piece of patterned paper around the ink tube and reinsert, shake a bit to loosen it up and screw cap back on. It looks really cool too with a piece of glittered paper!!!

What’s in it?
June papercard kit (bazzill cardstock, doodlebug patterned paper, ribbon, dew drops)
other: WRMK eyelets, stickles

thanks for dropping by,
Bella
