Ohhh, the new card kit is wonderful!! I love having coordinating papers and embellishments all together so I don’t have to wonder if the papers in my hand match. What a great idea! I modified the stamp a bit by only having the monkey on the swing. I stamped the image, cut the image in two and slid the two halves together to make it look like only the monkey is there. I love the paper that I picked in that it looks as if the monkey is swinging at the park. Again, what fun and how cool to have it come all together!

My friend is giving birth on September 9th with her first boy after having 2 gorgeous girls. I’m lending her some of my stuff that i had kept and her sister in law gave her some hand-me downs too but sometimes it’s nice to have something new. I decided to make her a few onesies, they will all be decorated with material but i made one with this, totally perfect, stamp from the RAM collections.

i stamped the image directly on the onesie using Staz-On ink, it didn’t go on as dark as i was hoping but i worked with it. Now obviously copics and Staz-On are not a good mix so you have to be super careful, the copics will make your Staz-On ink bleed so you have to be careful. i found the best way to color and not drag black from the outline was to tap with my copic, just as if i was trying to color in dots. because it’s on material, the colors bleed a little so you don’t need to go all the way to the edge.

To make the clouds i used a post it that i cut in the shape of a cloud and i just used one of my copics and feathered around the edge.

BTW, blender doesn’t really work that well on material….

what’s in it?

onesie from JOE bought at Loblaws (i love JOE, the quality is excellent!)

stamp: PWCO/RAM Puddles of fun

ink: Staz-On, copics (0-Y02-YG06-YR65-BG10-BG15-BG45-R02-R17-R20-RV13-E33)

other: Post-it

hope you give it a try, it’s a super quick and easy gift to make for the arrival of a new baby

Good morning!

Today is my first post using a Sunday Sketch. The sketch this week is actually a great layout and could be used for just about any kind of card. You could even centre the stamped image for a great square card.

I whipped up my sample today to give to my parents for their anniversary. I was quite set on using this delicious patterned paper from Bo Bunny (it’s on sale!) so the rest of the colours were pulled from the paper. (thus a pink and green snake)

I used coordinations cardstock – brown on one side and pink on the other, my cuttlebug and embossing folders, a button from my stash and did a little sewing just ’cause I love my sewing machine (I never would have thought I’d be saying that!)

The sssssssssssentiment is computer generated – I don’t even know if I have a stamp with Happy Anniversary that’s spelled the traditional way. (most of my budget goes on patterned paper, followed by images, followed by everything else. I’m a serious paper addict) Oh, and the PWCO stamp is Sammy the Snake. (do you remember that Sesame Street skit – I’m Sammy the Snake and I look like the letter “S”)?

I’m breaking my sssssssstreak of making a little something else to go with my card but hopefully I’ll only be doing that just for this week. We are doing a trial adoption of a 2 year old beagle and he’s keeping me (and DH) on my toes this week. I’m hoping he settles into a routine soon so I can have some of MY playtime back.

Hi everyone!

I’m delighted to be here on a Sunday for the month of September to partake in the Sunday Sketches. I just loved this weeks sketch and decided to pull out Harriett the Hippo. She is coloured with copics – I love that hippos are such versatile creatures and look good in any colour you choose to work with!! She is cut out using the nestabilities shapes (rectangles & ovals). I used my Martha Stewart grass border punch as I wanted to give the feel that Harriett is in a field of wildflowers and long grass … did it work? hee hee

To create my flowers I used the retro flower punch (large & medium sizes) with the matching papers and a cranberry dew drop for their centers. My final touch was some crystal stickles around the edges of the oval. I wanted a little bit of sparkle and really love how this gives a subtle touch of glam!

I sure hope you’re able to join in this week with the Sunday Sketches – having the sketch laid out for you takes so much pressure off putting a card together. They really get the mojo flowing … so go and grab a pencil and pad and get sketching and creating!!! Have fun!

Hugs,

I am so excited to be doing my first post on “Super Saturday”, I decided to make a card for 2 challenges out there this week. The first challenge is from the Paper Sundaes Challenge blog to make a Christmas card and the Second is from the Challenge blog Sweet Sketch Wednesday. I used Charlotte’s Holiday Mail, I just love this little stamp and it can be used all winter long. All my paper came from my scrap bin so I can’t tell you who it is by, I think The Paper Studios. I used my nesties on the circle. For my coloring I used my copics G07, YR00, R46,E57,R20,E55
