Well as the month of July comes to a close, can I just tell you how squealin’ excited I am for the month of August to roll in…

If you thought for a moment that the surprises we had for you were big in July (adding the amazing Tinla to the Blog Team, rolling out the PaperCard Kit, New Stamp Release, Crazy Deals, etc…), you haven’t seen nothing yet… August promises to be a busy month, filled with some amazing projects by the PWCO Blog Team, as well as some additional surprises that I can’t share right this moment but stay tuned…. it gets better….!!!

 changito

Materials Used:

* PWCO July PaperCard Kit: Cardstock (black, white and yellow), Lime Rickey D.P., Buttons, and Navy Ribbon

* Changito Stamp by Stampendous

* Copics: E 33, 35, 37, 39 / 110 / BG000

* Airbrush Compressor

* Twine for buttons

The sky was meant to be “marbled” to reflect the clouds in the sky… I just received my new Compressor from Peggy (Sparmax) and OMG! It is wonderful.

No more risk of my hubbie’s Air Compressor blowing up in my craft room, or being deafened by it :)

And I can airbrush anytime that I so choose… even at 2 am!!

More to come on that wonderful new addition to my stamping room!

Enjoy the rest of the week… Judy ends the month of July on Friday with her last card…

Please leave us some love and visit Monday for big excitement and enjoy the weekend!

So this is my last post for the month!

It’s been a hectic month!  From adding more members to the blog, to the PaperCard Kit, to launching the new stamp collection, we didn’t really have time to breathe!

So I made this card as my last July PaperCard Kit project…

thanks0709

Materials Used:

  • July PaperCard Kit (including Black Smoothie Paper, Lime Rickey Patterned Paper and Lime Rickey Brads)
  • Stamps: Hero Art’s Bamboo, and Thanks
  • Inks: Memento Tux Black, SU! Bashful Blue
  • Sakura of America’s Stardust pen (used to highlight the patterned paper)
  • This is a simple card, doesn’t have any bells and whistles.  However, this card expresses my most sincere, simple and genuine gratitude to the following people:

    Amanda:  Thank you for taking over the Blog, I wouldnt know what I will do if I didnt have your help

    Judy:  Thank you for having such blind Faith and trust in all my wild (and sometimes scattered) ideas

    Tinla:  Thank you for being on board with us… It mean’s a lot to me that you came for the ride!

    Natasha:  Thanks for helping us launch the  Aqua Amigos Collection!  I know you’re a busy busy girl, so taking the time to make the projects and co-host the launch party was much appreciated!!

    All the people who went on the blog day after day:  Thank you for your unconditional support.. You’re the reason why we get to our craft rooms and whip out projects, so thank you for coming…

    So with this, I hope everyone enjoyed the projects I’ve made for the blog! Make sure to come back to see Amanda’s and Judy’s last project for this month!!!

    We have more exciting and cool things going on starting Aug. 1st, so keep checking back to see what we are up to next!!!

    One More For The “Stash”

    One can never have too many thank you cards in their stash.  Do you have a stash of cards you fall back on?  I’m one to talk…I don’t even have a stash. Actually, I am horrible at making cards ahead of time…I seem to make them when I need them, which isn’t a very time efficient manner.  The PaperCard Kits are great in that they help me make a bunch of cards right away for many occasions, so that I CAN have a stash!  Wow!  Time on my hands, here I come!!!

    Caterpillar Note by Judy

    Caterpillar Note

    Hello!   Hope nothing has been “bugging” you lately, except maybe a cheerful note from a friend.  I wanted to “jazz” up my little caterpillar and adding brads to her not only added more color, it created dimension too.  This is a very easy card to make and a great way to use up some smaller pieces that we often overlook using.  By varying the direction of these little pieces, motion is also added to the look of this card and mimics the undulating motion of a caterpillar walking on uneven terrain.   The black background just seems to accentuate the bold, vibrant colors of the Lime Rickey paper.  Enjoy your day and thanks for visiting us here at PaperWorks Co.!

    Supplies:

    July PaperWorks Card Kit (design paper, ribbon, brads)

    Ink – Memento – Tuxedo Black

    Caterpillar Stamp – Daisy Bucket,  just a note – Stampendous

    Prisma Color Pencil Crayons & OMS (Gamsol) for color blending

    Ribbon Punch – Fiskars

    Black pen (for drawing face)

    Crafty Firecrackers/Sparklers

    I wanted to share this little craft I did for Canada Day with my daughters.  I know….Canada Day!!  I am so late to post this!!!!  Canada Day was at the beginning of the month and we are getting to the end of the month!  But I thought I would post it as it is a cute little crafty activity that you could do all summer long…especially if there are sparklers or firecrackers involved in a get together.  We gave them to my daughters’ friends…they might tear it apart to get to the treat inside, but not before your friends ooooh and aaaahhh first!!  A potential downside is that they might expect something crafty from you every time they see you, but stay tuned!  We’ll have lots more crafty activities right here on the blog for youJ  If you do make the Lifesaver Firecrackers, please be sure to post your creations in the gallery; we would love to see them!

     Instructions; Measure Lifesavers roll and then cut out paper (great and excellent way to use DP that you bought, and then years later, wonder why you bought it…ie; HUGE paper packs from Costco…which is where this paper is from) to wrap around the roll.  I think some rolls might be different sizes; I cut my paper to be 3”x2 ¾”.  Before wrapping and gluing down the wrapper, I cut thin strips of white cs (again, great way to use up small pieces of white cs), and glue them to one end of the wrapper.  Cut the white strips different lengths, so that it will look like a trail coming out of the soon-to-be firecracker or sparkler.  Use different star punches to punch out stars and attach to the ends of the white cs strips (we attached stars on either side of the white cs, so that it looks more finished).  Wrap paper around Lifesaver roll and glue down.  Just to dress them up a bit, I also cut out 1” strips of white cs to make a belly band.  Once belly band is glued down, tie ribbon around firecracker and attach tag.  Voila!!!  You are done!  And looking oh-so-crafty;)

    Crafty Firecrackers/Sparklers

    Ingredients; Stamp;  Michaels’ $1.50 stamp

    all paper from Costco paper packs, white cs scraps

    ink; Versamagic Red Magic

    accessories; Michaels’ ribbon, Xonex and Marvy star punches, Nesties scallop squares

    Thank you for visiting and have a great weekend!  Tinla

    Swedish Hippo

    Yes I’m shameless.

    What would the first month of releasing the PaperCard Kits be without pimping Harriet?!?

    Harriet the Hippo is one of PaperWorks Co. Stamp line’s main attraction.  She by far is one of the most popular characters we have in our line!  SO I had to use the stamp and show her off!

    I get my inspirations from the weirdest things.  Like this card,  I was inspired when I drove by the local Ikea store a couple of weeks ago.  Normally, I don’t go crazy with my color combos.. (contrary to what Amanda and Judy believes ;) ).  But I figured if the Swedish can do a yellow and blue, and the fact that Ikea hasn’t changed their brand colors ever, then the color combo of yellow and navy blue must be a gooder lol.

    The Ikea-inspired card:

    Materials Used:

  • July PaperCard Kit (including Smoothies Cardstock, Lime Rickey Patterned Paper, Grosgrain Ribbon)
  • Stamp:  Harriet the Hippo by PaperWorks Co.
  • Inverted Square Nestabilities
  • EK Success Border Scalloped punch
  • Atyou Black Glitter Pen
  • Copics – Assorted Colors
  • Dimensional Foam Tape
  • And there you have it, my little swedish hippo. heheheh

    Don’t you wanna run to your local Ikea for some meatballs now?!? mmmmmm meatballs………..

    I can make a card for a young girl’s birthday easily, but I have a hard time making cards for my young nephews (6, and 3 yrs old).  If I have difficulty now, it won’t be a cake walk when they teens!  However, for this round of birthdays, I had a really easy time as the July PaperCard Kit contained colours that can be translated to any gender or age group….gotta love that!  I stamped, coloured, cut out and popped up the heart shaped balloon…Glossy Accents was applied to give it that shiny, inflated look….kids love feeling the dried Glossy Accents…or maybe it’s just mine?!

    Lemonade Anyone?

    This design paper made me think of a tall, cool, citrusy summer beverage and had me smacking my lips!  I must say it was also the most “challenging” piece of design paper for me to use from the Lime Rickey collection, but as a friend of mine always says,  ”no guts – no glory”!  I was going for “bright and cheerful” and I think I managed to accomplish just that.  What are your thoughts?
