LOVE Is All You Need!

I was so happy when my order arrived the other day with my new Little Loud Stamp “Standing Beneath a Tree” in it. I knew it was the perfect stamp to make my tag card. The red cardstock it from PTI and the Pink is Prism.

I colored my image with prismacolor pencils and odorless mineral spirits, I did some paper piecing on the tree top, I didn’t think green fit in with the colors! I used a corner rounder punch on the tag and on the pocket. The ribbon came from my scrap jar, if you don’t have a scrap jar for small pieces of ribbon YOU SHOULD! Comes in handy all the time. The oval punches on the pocket are from Marvy Uchinda.

Are you looking forward to Valentine’s Day? Do you do something special with your honey and kids? Take time this year and make it a special day-this world could use a little love!

Another week, another sketch!

last week, we had some players, and its at the gallery now!

check it out here: http://www.paperworksco.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=648

This week, we’re going to focus on pocket cards!  I know the hype these days are the tassel cards, but its nice to fall back on some oldies!  In fact, the pocket card was one first “intricate” cards I did when I first started stamping. good times!

Here’s the sketch:

Because I have been crazy busy with the new stamp release for this coming friday, Natalie was sweet enough to cover the sample for the sketch.. here’s her blurb:

It’s been awhile since I made a pocket card…don’t know why but it has!

and OOOO how fabulous is that kraft and black Jillibean Soup paper and then when you pair it with raspberry!! EEEK!! I think I’m in love! the sentiment is from Valentine Charlotte and is uber versatile, can be used almost any time! LOVE it!

THANKS NATALIE!!!

Remember to post your card as we would love to see your work!!!

I couldn’t resist these mini mailboxes when I saw them at Target!  They just begged for these stamps to be used on them.  I have seen so many varieties of them for many holidays, but Valentine’s Day has to be my favorite.  I just added some heart paper, red trim, and ribbon using sticky tape.  I find this adheres best when working with metal.  I used Charlotte on the front.  Her heart is colored with a metallic Sakura pen in red then topped with a bit of Paper Glaze to give it some shine.  I wanted it to stand out from Charlotte’s dress.  Her headband and shoes are both black Sakura glaze pen.  Jacob is resting on top of a panel embossed by the Cuttlebug hearts folder.  I topped the flag with a white heart brad and some sparkly Valentine paper.  I love the flexiblity of this project…any Valentine designer paper scraps will work!  Thanks for letting me share it with you!

Be Loved Scrap-lings

I love to make scrap-lings from what is left of the PaperCard Kits (and believe me, I get a LOT of scrap-lings from what is left over!).  A scrap-ling is a little card that is made from what is left over after you cut your ususal standard size of card out of cardstock.  For me, because my usual card size is 4.25″ x 4.25″, my scraplings are usually 2.5″ x 4.25″.  I like to attached one to a gift bag or gift box in lieu of the usual sized card.   It’s also alot of fun to leave these little cards  in someone’s lunch box or in between the pages of a book that someone is presently reading and wait for them to find it:):)    Another way to let someone know that you care for them:)

Thank you for looking and have a wonderful day!

paper; Prismatics, Bazzill Smoothies, Bo Bunny Be Loved Collection

accessories; punch outs from Be Loved Accessory Sheet and Dew Drops (both from January PaperCard Kit), Nestabilities Scallop Hearts, Cuttlebug embossing folder Heart Blocks

Bringing You Joy In 3D

Today is my last Free For All day for awhile.  I decided to really go out on a limb and not stamp AT ALL!  Can you believe it?  Sometimes I feel the need to just step out of my stamping zone and make something “EASY.”  I know this project may not look easy, but I swear it was.  It probably took me less time to make than a card.  The longest part was letting the paint dry on the frame.  HONEST!

When I saw these cute stickers and papers by Bo Bunny I knew I had to have them.  I also knew that this is the project I would create.  That saying is one of my all time favorites because it is SO TRUE!  I, selfishly, made this for ME!   I’m going to hang it in my craft room.  I’m not sure it will prevent me from buying more craft supplies though….cause that DOES bring me JOY:)

Make sure you check out the LOVE BANDIT Collection.  It is sooo cute!  The perfect way to go about making some easy, simply sweet Valentines.   I will be posting a few more projects on my blog this week using these fun supplies. Hope you can stop in to check them out.

Thanks for popping in!  Hope you have a very JOYful day!

Nikki
