Elegant Christmas UCC#9
Thanks to Sheena and her Ultimate Card Challenge #9, I was inspired to come up with my latest creation. We all seem to be searching for ways to quickly mass produce cards for us to send out at Christmastime and the Poinsettia Nestabilities and the Snow Dot embossing folder by Cuttlebug allowed me to do just that. I was able to keep my supply list to a minimum by selecting my papers carefully. By alternating the velvet and sugar coated papers (both by Doodlebug), the poinsettia has depth and textures that are pleasing to both look at and touch. Of course, the embossing of the metallic cardstock is the icing on the cake, so to speak, and provides a perfect background for showcasing the poinsettia, which is layered using dimensional foam tape. All these features came together to provide a simple but rather elegant card. The finished size of this card is 4-1/2” by 5-3/4”, and it fits into a 6-1/2” by 4-3/4” envelope.
P.S. I’m not sure why, but the Snow Dots embossing folder is one that I had held off buying until just recently. I’m happy to say that it’s quickly becoming a favourite of mine. (mutter, mutter – I don’t know why I deprive myself of these things – sheesh!) Lol

Wow, Judy, this card is such a stunner…love how you used glitter paper and velvet paper on the poinsettia. It goes so well with the gold foil cardstock. Lots of gorgeous textures here…I can’t believe this would be an easily mass produced card, because it looks so elegant! TFS:):)
