Non Traditional For The UCC#9
This week’s UCC issued by Peg was to make a Christmas card using non traditional Christmas colours and as an added challenge, use non Christmas/holiday stamps. I thought this little birdie with a letter could pass on a Christmas card, but was stumped about the non traditional colour part. Then my eye caught the 6×6 pad of Nook and Pantry by BasicGrey….perfect! I stamped the little birdie in Brilliance Chocolate, then paper pieced her with a Nook and Pantry sheet full of yellow, orange/red and blues. I laid down a strip of red liner tape, then patted some gold micro beads on the tape as a “ground’ for the birdie (does anyone else have a stash of micro beads? I’ve had them for years and never touched them til now!). I used the sentiment from Charlotte’s Holiday Mail, just omitted the “you” from “Sending You Christmas Wishes” to make the sentiment fit better under the birdie. Love how the Christmas Freckle sentiments are so versatile:) And my card is done! Great challenge, Peg…thanks for the inspiration:)
Thank you for visiting…looking forward to seeing what you come up with for the UCC#9!

Super card Tinla! You nailed the challenge indeed! Love the microbeads too! (Yes, I have a stash from a few years back and haven’t used them in quite awhile. Think I’ll have to drag them again after seeing the great job you did with yours! Thanks for the inspiration.)
